WE SHALL MEET AGAIN
I realize that it’s still obviously winter, and there are a couple weeks left of it. However, the temperature has been fairly nice to us the past couple of days. Thus, my desire to pick up my SLR once again is stabbing me with an almost aching pain. I had studied photography in high school for 3 years, and have forgotten nearly everything I was ever taught. This is the reason I am going to reunite myself with my love for photography. Besides, I’ve had my SLR for 3 years now, and all it does is collect dust. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve used it several times for school, and even on little random photo dates. However, it has spent the majority of it’s time sitting in it’s case being neglected. For the most part, I use my point and shoot.
Call me old school, but I love the physical act of developing photos. Being in that dark room consisted of plenty of good times. But more, it was about seeing your product develop right before your eyes. Though I love the sharpness and time efficiency my SLR has, I hope to use my film SLR more. Take it back old school – before digital cameras were even invented!
One day I wish to create a built-in a studio and dark room, in the apartment I have yet to find. Hopefully this all happens in New York. If not anytime soon, Toronto will do…for now.
Anyway, as the nicer weather approaches, I expect to enjoy many days gallivanting the streets of Toronto, or anywhere really, in the hopes of finding some inspiration.
