LOVE
I’ve been slacking on writing about current albums I am listening to. However, since the death of my ipod, I’ve actually been able to listen to full albums, as opposed to sifting through the thousands of songs that sit on my ipod playlist.
LOVE – ANGELS & AIRWAVES
I have been a musical fan of Angels and Airwaves since their first album came out several years ago. I’ve seen them live twice, listened to both their albums for long periods of time, and had been highly anticipating the release of their newest album ‘Love’. How fitting that they choose to release it on Valentine’s Day right? I’m not going to lie, when I first heard the album in it’s entirety, I was disappointed. I found that a lot of the songs on this album sound almost identical to songs they’d released in the past. I mean, it’s not all bad considering their previous songs are what got me into this band in the first place. However, in spite of all this, I have actually really grown to love this album. I still think their first is by far their best. Though I have several faves on this album already. The list includes: Shove, Young London, Letters To God Part II, Soul Survivor (…2012), Clever Love, Hallucinations and Epic Holiday. Given, this is more than half of the album, the other songs just don’t fly with me right now. It’s not one of the albums I would highly recommend, because as a fan, I wasn’t too pleased myself. Nonetheless, the album is good. Not the best, but good. So if you’ve got an open mind, and don’t expect too much…you may just like this album.
